Captain Marvel

Over the weekend, i was able to watch Captain Marvel, The first female-superhero lead for Marvel Studios. The movie was very slow in the beginning and the pacing dragged until the midpoint and conflict/resolution. The movie picked up fast towards the end and a lot of the easter eggs explained and revealed how the sequence of events before the movie came to be and take place. The movie took place in the past (when blockbuster was still relevant.) Samuel L. Jackson was more outgoing and happier than he usually is as a modern day Nick Fury (grumpy, easily irritated.) The main character, captain marvel, carol danvers was decent as a female superhero, but a lot of her emotion was flat. She was a bit too "tomboyish" which isn't realistic to the comics. Of course, the skrulls were the main villains of the film. I believe the star of the show was the pilot that was Captain Marvels best friend. I actually believe she would do better as a super woman. She is a black woman, and really brought that power, confidence, energy, but also femininity that carol danvers lacked. The movie was more of a character background movie, that leads into the main feature: (Avengers: Endgame, April 27th) which was expected, but i still feel as though they could have made it doper. Can't wait for endgame.
