The Next Production Designer, is More of A Director & Producer than designer, but the worlds he creates are insanely creative, dope and unorthodox. His work still inspires me Heavily to this day.

His name is Tim Burton. Endless movies of his features a complex looking world with contrasting colors and tones that fit the world perfectly. & Helps us to understand the character.

Script: Rough Draft

Attached is my first draft script for the film adaptation: "On Being Crazy" by W.E.B Dubois. I have made sure to pay special attention to setting the scene and being descriptive, but straight to the point as far as what is going on in the environment and how the characters are reacting and responding. I have capitalized names during introductions and paid special attention to focusing on what scenes are most important and how to condense the information to make the story and transitions smooth but detailed and engaging. For the beginning few weeks of class, we have been discussing the topic of speculative fiction. The assignment states that we are to choose a short story, poem, novel that has to deal with the concept of afro-futurism, or the black experience in general. Read that story, and create a film adaptation for our final project. I have done a bit of research on the topic and have finally chosen what i want to adapt. Before beginning this research, i had to think from a realistic and practical lens. What is my budget, what are my possible resources, who could i possibly cast, should i go for a popular book, or should it be more underground. So I'm not the richest person in the world by any means, but I am inspired by the creative world that I see in a couple of films form directors such as Tim Burton... in particular. His worlds are always so weird and have dark undertones. They just stand out to me personally. The rest of the images are a few other background designs that I found interesting. It really shows how far you can take production design, and how color plays a major part in the look and feel of what you want your audience to feel. It helps them understand not only the characters but, their circumstances, and it certainly assists the story. Here is the full look of what kinds of production art I want my animation to display, even if I don't have the resources right now to match this epic-ness in my screenplay.
