For the beginning few weeks of class, we have been discussing the topic of speculative fiction. The assignment states that we are to choose a short story, poem, novel that has to deal with the concept of afro-futurism, or the black experience in general. Read that story, and create a film adaptation for our final project. I have done a bit of research on the topic and have finally chosen what i want to adapt. Before beginning this research, i had to think from a realistic and practical lens. What is my budget, what are my possible resources, who could i possibly cast, should i go for a popular book, or should it be more underground.
